Italian Fruit and Vegetables in Edinburgh

"Fruttivendolo" means greengrocer in Italian, and fresh produce is where our shop began. Every week new deliveries arrive in Edinburgh from Italian growers and markets, so you can cook with the same fruit and vegetables you would find at a market in Italy.

Seasonal produce from Italy

What we stock changes with the Italian seasons. In autumn and winter you will find radicchio Castelfranco, Trevisano and Chioggia, cavolo nero, catalogna and scarola, Delica and Nocciola pumpkins, fennel, Romanesco cauliflower and cime di rapa. Tomatoes are a speciality: datterini red, yellow and orange, San Marzano, Merinda and ramato on the vine. For fruit, look out for Sicilian lemons and oranges, bergamot, kaki, Annurca apples, Coscia and Decana pears and prickly pears. Availability changes week by week.

Buy by weight, the Italian way

In the shop on Dalry Road you pick exactly what you need and pay by weight. Online, most produce is sold in 250g or 500g packs; some items, like whole pumpkins, are sold whole and priced per kg.

Delivered fresh across Edinburgh

Order by 7pm for delivery in about 2 hours in Edinburgh, free over £50, or collect from the shop for free. Outside Edinburgh we send chilled next-day parcels across Scotland and ship to the rest of mainland UK.
